Kenan Türkmen

Kenan Türkmen was born in 1975 in Turkey.Graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Political Sciences. He is a self- taught artist. During his university years he started to paint regularly, and together with a group of artists working in similar style he took part in the establishment of the first surrealist group in Turkey IFAR (Istanbul Fantastik Realite). With IFAR Kenan Türkmen participated in nearly 25 exhibitions.

At year 2000 he took part at the Istanbul 1st Surrealist Exhibition
which was organized by IFAR.

Kenan Türkmen lives and works in Finland since 2005.

In Kenan Türkmen´s paintings human life and its components come together with nature and different components of life. While observing his paintings we can put ouselves in the place of the subject matter. It could be a tree, a stone, a human being, existent or nonexistent.

This exhibition in Galleria Nunes is Kenan's first solo exhibition in Finland.
